Detoxification, to detoxify your body seems quite extreme to some, others have never thought of it, yet some do it on a regular basis. Cleansing is a routine action your body does naturally; all in all the body does a good job at doing so. However when the body is overloaded with toxins or pollutants its ability to keep itself free of these may require some assistance. It is good to help cleanse the body of such toxins, but beware that when done too often, you start doing what your body needs to do itself and results in a weaker overall system. So why the need? This type can be done at home, any time, and very easily. Detoxification is the process of reducing the buildup of various toxins or poisonous substances in the body. This is a matter of removing toxins in the cells and fortifying them to get a nutritional balance for a prescribed treatment. One of the easiest ways to keep cancer from taking root is by keeping your foundation free from free radicals and toxins. Consider doing a cleanse or a detox program regularly. If we believe prevention is possible, then we should make sure we have a clean start. If we don''t, our body just has to work harder to establish that good ground level. Getting rid of unwanted toxins helps our body become stronger, faster.
Why would I need to detox?
Toxins build up in our system there is no escaping. Toxins come from the chemicals in the food and water we consume, drugs and medications, even from the air we breathe. These normally will should be readily flushed from the body on a regular basis. When the body is overwhelmed with such toxins or pollutants, the body can''t keep up and the harmful waste is then stored in the cells, organs and tissues of our body. How about my activity during a detox?
It''s a good idea to take it easy during a detox. Don''t use this time to do high intensity workouts or endurance training. Keeping up with a normal routine of high activity can be an overload and may leave you out of your peak performing mode. This is a time for you to relax and clean up your body, mind and soul. By taking this moment out, your body can best clean, revitalize, heal and fortify itself for life ahead.
How to detox easily
There are many suggestions on the best way to detox. Some recommend you drink something, take something else and place heavy restrictions of what your diet will consist of. While many of these detox plans are good, most of us do not have the ability nor the stamina to follow them to the end. Here you get to pick your direction. These are simple ways to start a detox. They are things that can be done once a week, once a month, or even once a year.
Lemons - For 3 to 7 days, drink 1 mug warm water with the juice of one small lemon, fresh squeezed. Drink this upon waking in the morning, first thing into the stomach. Drink the entire mug full within 15 minutes, wait 45 before eating. Eating as clean as you can for the duration of the days will help boost your system. Apple Cider Vinegar - For 2 - 5 days, drink 1 - 2 tsp unfiltered apple cider vinegar mixed with 1 - 2 tsp honey in 12oz water first thing in the am. Wait 20 minutes before eating. For an added boost you can drink the same mix mid afternoon between meals. This will help pull some toxins out of our cells and build up our immune system for the winter time bug that may come our way.
Teas - For 5 - 7 days, replace your ''cup of joe'' with any of the following teas: Pu erh, Pau d arco, mint, herbal teas, or mate''. Coffee is fine, but we rely too heavily on it to keep our body going at full tilt. Giving our adrenaline glands a break helps give our body a healthy baseline.
Citrus Flush - For 2 - 6 days, try a citrus flush. Mix 1 tsp vit C powder in 12 - 16oz water first thing in the morning. Wait 10 minutes to eat, and eat only fresh fruits for the first hour of the day, as much as you want. Wait 1 - 2 hours and eat as clean as you can for the rest of the days. Immune systems beg for support in the cold weather. With kids in school, it seems to welcome sickness... try to stay on top of the cold this year with out ever getting it.
Fasting - A water fast alone should be done under the strict supervision of you doctor

Bath Salts ~ With the wide variety of bath salts available you are in no shortage of variety.
